तर म आफैँ नै बन्छु !!}

Businessmen

Yeah!

We're really sick of you businessmen,

who only know how to make a profit!

Doing business is great if we do it for a living,

but despicable if we exploit those,

who are trying to make a living,

and cherishing the art of giving!!

Voice of the Common Man (Song)

 {A chorus-less power, progressive journey}

(I)

T-too fast, too fast

we're holding on our Fastlane tempo

Too slow, too s-slow... we're going on our

Destiny and Dreams,

Sound, Silence and Screams

Long and Lonely Nights

Loud and Lengthened Fights

Some Sights, Some Sights

Bright Lights, New Heights, Unholy Mights

Filled with Freedom

with Honor and a promise to keep and promises to keep...

Cherishing the conscience...

in choking nausea,

of failure and defeats!

There's a time, and on our mind,

poems and a rhyme, we're one of a kind,

some blind, some bored, some broke, some blonde,

some flying, some frowned, some free, some flamed, some framed,

some freezing in cold, some flamed in the freezing cold...

some freezing in cold, some flamed in the freezing cold...

in the dead of the night!

Fate, or a victim,

of the ones on the light burning bright...

So fly free...

Fly with freedom... like flames...

but when focused to a point, blessed us with a body of life...

born out of wild, the child...

Born out of wild... the Child!!!

Brimming with Faith, in Hope, in Courage, Love!!

And knowing the sorrows, some sleep, some weep,

or cry with pain or joy!!!

(II)

Somewhere on the desert lands, I crawl out of the sand...

and they don't know of where I've been, so they fail to understand!

Beyond the seas, I've gone to here and there and here and there...

and across the mountain ranges, and to the lands of nowhere!

In search of hidden treasure, I search driven full of adventure...

seek out my destiny & the path is surely rough,

but my zeal that never fades helps me out,

to uncover the mysteries of the world!!!

(III)

Mornings feel like yesterdays, and days before...

Floating with the ambience, all anxious fears, I'm sure!

When days are meant to die, until darkness subsides at dawn...

In the reign of darkness to dig into, there's no light you need,

when you're hidden from the sun...

It's an almighty run!!

(IV)

Terror! Gloom! Misery! Chaos! Grab your hide to beasts...

But worry not, have no fear!!

Take Courage as we burn hot, so we can fight, they'll have no feasts!

'Cause here comes Hope... from outta your Heart...

to be seen in your eyes...

made stronger from pain and cries!

The path of Honor and Righteousness!!!

Stronger and stronger we'll grow!!

Higher and higher we'll rise!!

Stronger and stronger we'll grow!

Higher and higher we'll rise!

(V)

We'll rise like fire with desire in reaching higher!

Rebel against the burden imposed by selfish liars!!

We'll rise like the wind, heated, to perspire!

We'll rise against oppression...

We'll rise...

all common men!

[It's the voice of a common man!!]

'I am both the light and the darkness' (Poem)

Yes, I am the light that illuminates the dark!

But also, the darkness that shields the light from harm!

At times, I am the hot and raging flame,

that can both warm and burn,

to become either a holy torch, or an infernal hellfire!

While sometimes, I am also the cold and hard steel,

that controls the flame inside and feels the burn,

so that the heat is stopped inside,

but the exterior gets colder and colder...

and I turn too cold, sometimes heartless even!

But to know it, hurts, that forever is the crimson-stain!

But I am also the Earth!

The Earth cherishes the cold metals and rocks as well...

She helps the weak ones to stand their ground and the kindest ones to grow and feed!

The Earth also cherishes the heat within...

For a time may come when I'll need to let it out...

both to warm and to burn,

to brighten as well, and also, to incinerate!

Both the heaviness and the burn might leave me helpless again,

when I start sinking into the deepest of the depths!

But I'll find my way back from the abyss again, when you call my name,

as you had lifted me when I called out yours,

and filled me with your light again!

Yes! When darkness tries to consume this cherished treasure,

I'll be the fiercest flame of light!

Or if light tries to burn you,

I'll take in the flame and make it dark again!

Yes, I am both the light and the darkness!!

I am your friend till the end,

your brother, your son, your lover,

and also, your father!

I trust my soul, so I know!

I am your family! And I am true!

I am the guardian who will protect you, and also the Truth!

And protect the greatest, the mother, the Nature,

and all her cherished creations!!

Forever and ever.........

Vengeance for the little sister

Oh, sweet little sister, so soon they made you leave...

tormented with the pain that was never meant to be seen!!

The sorrow for you and the grief of those close...

How the sorrow remains, the pain of those that loved you...

Sweet little sister, I'll cry for you,

Stain my hands for you...

And I assure you sister, while we shed our tears,

They will shed their bloods!!!

Afraid in their anguish, they'll burn

with our flames too hot!

So they'll burn

with our flames of truth!!!

I'm sad too, little sister! So I stand for justice!

Don't want any more tragedies as such, and truely want true peace!

Have despised conspiracies, cruelty and their enjoyment in desires,

I fear that they are rampant, so let's kill the indulgent, cold, heartless beasts,

once and for all!!

Sweet little sister, I'll cry for you,

Stain my hands for you...

And I assure you sister, when we find them,

we'll torture them slowly, very slowly!!

Afraid in their anguish, they'll burn

with our flames too wild!!

So they'll burn

with the flames of truth!!!

Please wait little sister, you'll soon be at peace!!

Please wait while they suffer, and I'll offer their blood before they rot,

to set your soul free!!!

Pain (Poem)

I don't really know how to express it, so i stumbled before due to my clumsiness

of not having the knowledge to express it, and im still in the void of this Unknown!

I Hope I'll know this someday, but who knows? I maynot!

My Curiosity, I just wanna know the truth, my pity, sometimes i believe im gonna find the fruit!

and theres happiness and joy, like a free pirate drank & sang "ahoy",

forgot all worries n went for the mystery...

But I feel the world has changed, it's caged and now its History!

Even if i know the truth someday, I still wonder, will it ease my Heart?

what if it were better, i didnt know it.

we all wanna dance in the drizzle, try, you'll find fun, but it can get heavy,

Beware! It's dangerous, the Rain!

Yeah I may've known something, too many of 'em, not all, but it's like the Universe,

the Brain!

But still my heart doesnt obey, it wants to know, and what if I knew that all there was,

was Pain!

What could i possibly gain? The cain? So now i don't want anything, anything at all.

Still these dreams i have, i feel precious, i can't give these away, i'd give anything i could, to pay, to whom i owed, like some fools n would even fray, okay?

I just want to if i can, or i'll refrain. I could abandon everything i have, but still not my truth, so if i know that yuo're filled with malice, doing wrong, doing treachory & doing harm with great enjoyment, great desire, I'll seize everything, won't even leave behind a single grain. If u'd run, i'd chase u till the ends of the world, or my life, it's all in vain.

I want nothing from u as you're good as well & you might have things you treasure,

I'm starting to find good in all, even those in hell, but that i don't know, what tomorrow may grow.

And still, this bitterness remains,

& this silence excruciates... like loud sounds of trains.

and i'm drowning into the void of nothingness; anger, fear...

I can't find any reason to smile now, still u all say i must.

How? It's just hilarious...

Just why dont u let me burst?

Just How can i quench my thirst? But first,

please tell me what u know of, i'd like to hear ur story too, nomatter how long. I don't care if u think u're way too bad, i'll just find my bong,

i dont care if u sell ur stuff, sell ur skills or dance for them, u're not wrong,

it dont matter even if u've pierced ur toungue,

did u forget,it was pain that made u strong?

And then we'll just sing a song of our memories and joys, nostalgic moments already gone,

Excruciating anguish and pain yet to come.

Yeah, I remember ur love, but still I'm dragged down by the blues.

So now will u just teach me how to live?

cuz i've already forgotten. I even wonder now, is it right for me to express it? cuz i can't find any good way to express my sorrows, express my pain, my fears, my rage,

that's caging me, this chain, its blocking me to work for the future,to fight n to train.

Now the flame's starting to burn me, n the rain's starting to hurt me! i'm breathless, i wanna be free, i'm tired, and i dont care about the rain... just let me sleep in the shadow of this tree, and i don't want you to see, me being so... so terrible! im just like you, like he, or she, yet i want to be me, i wont plea, but still, fight to be free.

what i am, what i've been, i have no desires to show, but still i want u to know!

i dont know ur sorrows, so how can i know ur love? i'll be kind to u, cuz i dont know what u've faced in ur life, but just let me go, as i've got something to do, i've got a family, i've got friends, gotta face reality, and i've got dreams,

plus, i'm off in search of the grain, yet all i can find is pain!

I wanna cry so bad, but my tears, sometimes, they don't fall. i don't remember how many of my treasures i threw, but when u look at me, I hope i can smile at you!!!!

The Sacred Hunger (Song)

[Verse]

In this land where stormwind rages,

into the battle when the thunder roars...

and as all plunge into the growing blaze...

As they were driven by desire or fear,

without any remorse...

And driven by the rage and driven by the Hunger!!

[Chorus]

Exploding like roaring thunder!

Behold! The sacred hunger!

With it in people sunder and plunder!

All be wary... of the evermore hunger...

Lo and behold! The sacred hunger!!

[Interlude]

Only through good can we feed the holy flames!

Nothing more to expand the satisfaction, the joy...

And nevermore yields the truth to that which gives rise to misery!

Well, that, can certainly,

feed the truly hungry ones...

The sacred flames!!

[Instrumental]

[Verse]

In this land where stormwind rages,

into the battle when the thunder roars...

and as all plunge into the growing blaze...

As they were driven by desire or fear,

without any remorse...

And driven by the rage and driven by the Hunger!!

[Chorus]

Exploding like roaring thunder!

Behold! The sacred hunger!

With it in people sunder and plunder!

All be wary... of the evermore hunger...

Lo and behold! The sacred hunger!!

All behold! The sacred hunger!!

Behold! The sacred hunger!!!

Fire in our eyes (Poem)

Got fire in our eyes,

and we'll reach to the skies...

Got fire in our eyes,

and we'll reach to the skies.

Got stronger through the wailing and the cries,

it's our vision and dream, it flies...

The soul, its truth, not lies!!!

[Yes! The Truth! With your Treachery and Betrayal, it dies!!]

-Sachét

The depths of emotions (Poem)

Earth, fire and steel

helps me truly feel,

when I start to sink in the depth,

when the heat within is still covered,

but heaviness is all that's left...

Now floating in the surface,

is really hard,

or even swimming with grace.

But the truths in the deep,

vanish, they keep running away,

and are hard to chase...

The ride forever,

surely is rough,

and hard we must brace.

For one day,

the depths of darkness we must face...

So, alter the pace,

in case, you've got to win the race,

and uncover the secrets in the unknown.

Rise again from the base!

Strong and wise now,

emerge a champion that will ace!!

The four candles (Story)

A kid was reading a book fully concentrated at a library in a desolate place with no other houses or people around. It was already dark and there were four candles illuminating the room so that the kid could read.

Suddenly, a storm started brewing outside.

The windows were pushed open by the strong wind, and on the other side, where the candles were burning, the wind started to get strong.

One candle got affected and it seemed it would get blown out. But it spoke.

"Hey little boy, save me. I am Truth. As long as I am there, you will have everything in this world. There will be justice. There will be peace."

But the kid was maybe unaware or apathetic, and the candle was blown out.

The same thing happened with the second candle, and it spoke as well.

It said, "Save me boy, for I am Faith. I am the trust and beliefs that give people strength and courage. As long as I am there, you will always have happiness."

But the boy focused on reading didn't care and the second candle died as well.

Now the wind grew even stronger than before, and the third candle also started getting affected. It was about to go out as well, but it didn't speak. As it was about to be blown, at last it spoke, "I am Love. And without me you will have nothing" and died.

The boy was shocked now, and his focus was no longer on the book. Fear and regret had snuck in, and the room was not very bright as well, with only one candle burning now.

The boy was looking at the candle and at the very moment, the last candle spoke," Don't worry kid, for I am Hope. As long as I am there, you'll always have the light you need in the dark. And with my flame, you can again re-kindle the three candles that died."

(Author unknown)

[Moral: Truth is ultimate. We cannot deny the Truth and look away or we'll have to learn it the hard way. Trust and faith are constantly smashed to pieces but cherishing these give us strength and confidence. Hope is the strongest thing inside Truth, and it makes us capable to truly live. And there is nothing greater than Love and Compassion, so we have to hold what we find and cherish it, and live, and make efforts to protect what are really dear to us and what really matter the most... 'cause there may not be many chances to find what we lose again.]

Artistic Flames (Poem/Song)

Artistic are flames, and they don’t play no games!

Never perceive they’ll remain a few, as they’re the ones that can burn you!!

Fear the fire, yet admire, their desire, yes, they never tire,

Here and beneath the mire, their heat flows higher and higher,

Even in the funeral pyre, there’s a need of the holy fire!!

The Sun, yeah, it rises still,

Waiting its turn, every night will it kill!

The potential to burn, even the toughest hill,

So it ain’t fun disregarding the omnipotent Sun!!

We don’t know what’s beyond life gate…

The shade fades by fire, energy or just light,

But still, take no bait…

But wait, you still need the heat mate…

‘Cause fire gave us life,

Yet it can incinerate!!

Light or fire, it has different colours, different names!!

That’s why I say, artistic are flames!!!

The true meaning of art, as I feel (Article)

Art is misunderstood, especially in modern times. People perceive art as a vague illustration, while it is just the opposite. Art is a way of expressing in a simple language.

Art has various forms; sketching, painting, sculpture and carving, literature, music and dance. But whatever the art one does, he/she surely is an artist and the artist is truly free to create. There may be a set of rules in art, but an artist can sometimes break the rules to give some room for creativity in any of his/her piece of art, just like the saying of Pablo Picasso where he said, “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.” This shows that artists are truly free to express what they want, how they want. The strength of an artist will only grow with learning, feeling, and continuous practice, which increases their skills in creating or performing in their respective arts. And passion and patience allow an artist to truly grow and increase their skills.

Now an age-old question we have always pondered about. What is art? What is its use and why is it important? What is the true meaning of art? To answer these questions, we will need to look back to the dawn of civilization, but even still it will be hard to answer these questions. We can see sculptures on the walls of most temples in Nepal. The earliest paintings can also be found inside temple walls, but legend has it that paintings were first birthed from stone marking before humans were civilized and drew shapes in the walls of the caves they lived in, using stones. Similarly, singing was inspired when people imitated the sounds of birds and animals, while the sounds of rivers and waterfalls helped primitive people get the idea of rhythm. However, there is a myth in Vedic Mythology that it was Lord Shiva; the lord of music and dance (who is also referred to as Nateshwar or Nataraj), who invented melodies and rhythm. It is said that he invented rhythm from his damaru(a small handy percussion that he is seen carrying in illustrations of him) and created five Ragas (or melodies) from his five heads, while the sixth Raga was created by his consort, Goddess Parvati. And they were handed down to humans by the sages who learned them from the creators. Raga is a concept in Eastern Classical music that is similar to a musical scale originating in Western Classical music. And the roots are very deep if we want to look into it.

Paintings and sketches are for the eyes to see, while music is for the ears to listen, but they are only mediums of art, so the eyes and ears are just bridges to let the feelings of the artist flow inside the heart and feel what the artist felt. What I’m trying to say is, “Art is to be felt and not just viewed, heard, or understood.” Now let’s talk about dance, which is a mixture of music and picture. I couldn’t be clearer, so let me explain. When there is music, there are beats and there are emotions. But a picture only has a feeling which we view. But a dance lets us experience the emotions of the music accompanied by the emotions expressed through movements and expression. But still, there was something lacking. And it was literature, like poetry, fiction and drama. Poetry helped music reach a new height and the ones like fiction and drama when played with the accompany of music, movements, gestures, and dialogues, it was truly the birth of a pinnacle of art. Nowadays we watch movies and there are a lot of masterpieces, but they wouldn’t be there if fiction and drama weren’t there. We can credit the great European writer Sir William Shakespeare for his contribution to the field of drama, as ‘King Lear’ has remained my favorite drama to date.

Whatever sector of art one chooses, it is just as valuable as the other as I feel that artists are the voices of the unheard pleas of the common people. They are the voices of love, the voices of hope, and the voices of truth, as only an artist has the power to ease the sufferings of individuals and sufferings in society. Did you know? A simple concept; intellectuals confuse us, making it complicated and sophisticated, but even a complicated idea, expression, or feeling; artists simplify and clarify. So, every artist deserves acknowledgement for their dedication to creating something better that can help mankind, that can awaken humanity once again, and try to help save mother nature which we have always tarnished. An artist who uses his/her creativity to channel the latent energy to bring forth a positive change is a true artist, I feel. One who can stir up the crowd to make an influence to bring about a positive change, to bring about a revolution, vouch for freedom, peace, justice, empower the weak, and spread love and hope, rather than work for name, fame or riches; is a true artist, I believe. And a piece of art that can ignite the flames of enthusiasm and joy with just a spark, is truly a masterpiece in any way we see it, be it a fusion of different elements and different cultural components or a representation of a single essence. No matter the root, the branches are always spread wide, and creativity has no boundaries of language, culture, or location, so anybody can admire a piece of art regardless of race, skin color, gender, lineage, ethnicity, nationality, or religion. You might have heard of the feud between Hindus and Muslims in India from time to time, but music has always united both. And there are a lot of such examples.

Art is also directly connected with philosophy and life. About who we are, what we need to be, what we need to do, our purpose in life, and the moments we cherish, plus the dreams we need to fulfill; such things are usually portrayed by an artist truly expressing his understanding, perception, and curiosity of life. Creativity has allowed our world to admire good things regardless of our position. You must have seen or heard of a single tree that can give different types of fruits. With the use of knowledge and creativity, farmers and specialists have been able to produce oranges and mangoes in the same tree. So, why can’t we all from different countries and different cultures admire our Earth, admire nature, and the people living in her bosom? It is because we are forbidden to embrace the traditions of another and forbidden to even admire the virtues of another and that’s where a true artist steps in and will always unite different people with the only weapon, he/she has, which is art.

To conclude, art as I feel, is a tool, knowledge, and wisdom to unite different cultures and societies. More than that, art is an expression and an emotion that people are otherwise unable to feel unless an artist points it out. So, a true piece of art never separates us and makes us apart but unites us, motivates us, and makes us stronger. To ignite the flames of hope, enthusiasm, courage, and determination; the admiration and appreciation of things that lead us to progress, development, liberation, and freedom, art plays a vital role. To generate compassion rather than breed hatred, to seek glory rather than mere revenge, and to point out the importance of justice and peace, art is a necessary medium to point out and make the public conscious. For those who might have been unaware of the truth, a piece of art can open their eyes. That is the true purpose of art. To awaken us from the endless slumber of ignorance; that is the true meaning of art, I feel. To make us see clearly and understand. Lastly, art is for everyone, and so is creativity.

"Song of my heart" (Poem)

It's not that I don't love you, I hope for you more.

It's not that I don't love myself, I do, I just love you more.

I sing, so I feel I've learned how to fly.

You sing as well, and you'll discover how great is the sky.

I sing, so I think I can fly.

Come join me & we'll fly above the endless blue sky.

Sometimes sing alone,

sometimes sing with your friends,

sometimes sing with your rivals,

sometimes sing with me,

and we'll truly live free...

Just so you know, I don't know whether you like me or not, I don't care.

I will always like you!

Mental health and measures (Article)

In our everyday life, no one is devoid of problems, but a few take a moment amidst their problems to take care of themselves. Yes, people want to be happy, cared for, and loved. But as we grow older, our problems increase and we end up losing ourselves. Let’s get straight to the point. What I want to talk about is mental health and why it is so important.

Why do we need to be mentally healthy? Some people even ask this as they tend to forget that health means not just being physically fit. People still think that mental disease is not a disease but a state of being possessed by something supernatural, and people believe such things blindly. Good mental health is akin to being free. Being free of worries or being able to remain peaceful no matter what hurdles block our way, is a sign of a truly healthy person in my opinion. But no one can be perfectly healthy as we are just mortal beings. Nevertheless, we can be comparably healthier, if we take some measures even if we cannot be perfectly healthy, mentally or physically.

What I have just implied is that we need to be free to be happy, thus becoming healthier. Being free of worries, cravings, or fear of any criticism, and desire for any admiration, is a sign of a truly free person as per what I have understood from my experiences. What I’m also saying is, the mind, the body, and the soul; all three need to be in a good condition for us to be truly free. The mind must be healthy, the body must be healthy, and then the soul must be content. But rarely that happens, as we are infected by one thing or the other, and either the mind gets damaged, the body gets diseased/wounded, or the soul is scarred.

Let’s talk a little about what I mean when I say, ‘the soul’. We know that people meditate, exercise, travel, donate, and do a lot of things that end up making them euphoric and content. That is really important to make us see the hopeful side of our lives, which brings out the good in us and the good in others. But the problem is people rarely want to do these things often. People just want to enjoy, live in luxury and satisfy their desires, be it indulgence in sex, gambling, intoxication or food, and so on. Whatever raises dopamine, people indulge and start making excuses to escape from reality. Some even gloat and show off, thinking they are superior to others and fool themselves into that they are happy. Little do they know that happiness comes from within. Either you meditate (and make it a routine) to stimulate your senses and develop control over emotions and thoughts, or you travel; take a walk; go someplace peaceful and beautiful, donate to needy people, or pursue your passion. All those things help make us free, content and satisfied overall. Meaning our soul is healthy. Even being loved and cared for, fills us with joy and increases our passion for spreading more love. And that, most call God, which I want to define as the soul. So, we must never tarnish our souls, with evil intentions, temptations, or puny desires, as our soul is the life force we rely on. Sigmund Freud, however, claimed in his theory of Psychoanalysis, that our psyche (composed of id, super-ego and ego) is the soul. Meaning, our mind and soul are the same. We can relate to this as well; our conscience comes from our mind, but also from our soul. Carl Jung, who founded Analytical Psychology, and was a contemporary of Freud, also somewhat based his interpretations similarly. So, we can say that our mind plays a vital role, regarding our perceptions, and emotions.

Moving on, ‘being healthy’. This brings a core concept, which requires taking measures to prevent diseases, be it in the body or the mind. Yes, a healthy body is very important for us, but our mental health is just as important. A friendly atmosphere, helpful souls who help us forget our traumatic experiences, a positive outlook towards life (to build which, people are given counselling), peaceful moments every day, and friendly surroundings; all of which are necessary for us to be happy and then mentally healthy. Being free, and being happy, takes us to a whole new level of confidence and builds and empowers us to tackle our problems. And then, no matter how big our worries are if there is at least one person who listens to us, we become free of worries, and insecurities. But that doesn’t happen often; we get disappointed. Some people expect too much, some trust too much, some love too much with extreme attachment, and some may even hate too much, which only builds up tension in our minds, when our expectations are not met. Some people are bullied often or have been in the past, some have been tortured and abused, some are ignored, and some do not find anyone to talk their hearts out to, all of which ends up making those people feel helpless, worthless, or alone. Some experience traumas through loss, while some through separation. While some people face these problems later on, some of them face them in their early stages of life. Physically or mentally abused ones have trauma that can grow a lot more if left unnoticed, and people end up suffering from anxiety, depression, mania, sleep disorders, eating disorders, and many more. If we can care for mentally unhealthy people or people who are alone or needy, we might be able to save them from the worst. The least we can do for them is listen to what they may have to share and lend a helping hand or give a shoulder to rest their weary heads.

Some people have become disturbed by external things, while some by internal factors. Some are affected by other people’s actions, while some from their own. Some have been influenced by bad people with bad intentions, such as thieves, robbers, criminals wanting to make easy money, murderers, rapists, human traffickers, drug dealers, most drug addicts, and most alcoholics, while some have had their trust broken, all of which can leave a bad impact on a person’s mind. Some succumb to bad company and situations. But some resist too. Some start doing crimes for money, power, or even pleasure, some start substance abuse in their adolescence or even earlier, and some develop a sense of hatred towards any individual or community, due to any traumatic experience they have had; all these reasons are responsible for making people’s minds gloomy, dark, and unhealthy. Some are addicted to gambling, some to drugs and alcohol, some to sex, some to money, and many more addicts exist, who care only about their cravings, pleasure, and desires, and disregard the grievances of people they might have stomped upon. And all these make a person conceited. These people develop disorders in life certainly at a point. Heredity is another factor responsible for mental disorders in people sometimes. But as I said earlier, his/her company is more responsible for changing a person. But there are other factors too, which I have not yet talked about. A person’s preferences; like the music they listen to, the books they read, the movies they watch, the food they eat, and the list is long if we go on. Another is his/her routine.

Yes, food, along with an organized routine is also necessary for a healthy mind. There is a concept of three qualities of energy, which we call ‘Guna’ in the Eastern Vedic philosophy; them being Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, which are directly linked with our food, routine, and thoughts, which result in the actions we do. Sattva is the quality of purity and virtues and is associated with knowledge, conscience, and wisdom. Morning activity increases Sattva and a Sattvik diet is a diet that benefits us, such as fruits, milk/curd, grains, and vegetables. Rajas is the quality of action and passion. Daytime activity increases Rajas and a Rajasik diet is not necessarily harmful to us but not useful to us as well. Rajasik food is distinguished by a matter of taste and those that are addicted to tasty food have a high level of Rajas. Tamas on the other hand is a quality of pure negativity and is associated with ignorance and lethargy. Night-time activity increases Tamas and a Tamasik diet is a diet that usually harms our bodies and fills us with negativity, such as meat (which comes through killing) and intoxicating things like alcohol, and many more. This relates to our modern-day world well, as there is more nightlife and less spiritual practice. People long back would wake up at around 3 or 4 a.m. and would go to bed a couple of hours after it got dark, which few people follow nowadays. And people focus more on taste than health and spend on expensive liquor on every occasion. Understanding these things will surely help us understand why there is so much chaos in the world nowadays and so much chaos in our minds.

Now, after analyzing all the points above, I think it is okay to assume that optimistic thoughts and positive actions make us mentally healthy. And yes, people have agreed to it and acknowledged it to be true. But still, people divert from these, and that poses a big problem. Reading or watching Tragedies, Horrors, and Crime stories, usually explicit ones, make us unstable most of the time, and that is true. Yet some enjoy these, and most of the so-called sociopaths and psychopaths have these things in common, which I think is because of the building up of negativities. How negative thoughts build up, as we have already discussed, I have a few more modern-day examples. Like listening to Death Metal, Hardcore Rap, and other music emitting negative vibes; preferring grotesque art; watching (or also engaging in) uncivilized porn stuff, hunting or killing animals, and anything that takes us closer to negativities will make it worse, as only those things will remain fascinating for us. Then all the pure, serene, virtuous, and innocent things, we will want to ridicule.

Economic crisis, the need to compromise safety and only facing dangerous challenges, will also destabilize a person. But when they feel they can’t find any shoulder on which they can rest their heads, they take blind and drastic measures even when there are people who care for them. A similar thing happened to a close person of mine right after the Covid pandemic. He could no longer bear it, and his life ended unexpectedly. He had forgotten the family he cherished, his responsibilities and dreams had all been washed away by the hands of pain and gloom. It is in these hard times that we must support one another and take notice of our dear ones. So, listening to and being able to convince people to share their stories, is an important skill in life to help another. Some people are so lonely, that they become whimsical and take drastic actions, which is what gives birth to tragedies that we must prevent. I don’t want such tragedies to happen to anyone. Thus, the need to develop good communications skills with empathy, rather than sympathy.

What can we do to help ourselves? And what can we do to help others? And yes, we have to discuss these things often and we have to be open about mental health, as people don’t like to talk about their mental issues or illnesses thinking it will pose a big problem in the future. Practicing Yoga/meditation, reading inspirational stories, listening to good music; such as classical music and other uplifting music that grabs a good ambience, watching beautiful views like sunrises and sunsets, going travelling to a place filled with natural beauty and greenery, painting or observing paintings with warm ambience, being engaged in productive and creative activities, not overthinking, and sharing our feelings and thoughts to a close person. All these things help us ease our minds. Similarly, people diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, and other complex personality disorders, need to take measures to make themselves healthy and must be guided to do so by those who need to take care of them and make the family environment healthy as well. Meditating, engaging in creative activities like art, music, and literature, reading and learning, keeping oneself busy doing something, and also consulting a good knowledgeable and experienced psychiatrist, introspecting for self-examination and reflecting, and socializing, are some ways to keep oneself mentally well. To not keep the feelings bottled up like people earlier used to, will help people a lot. People should be willing to help others as everyone needs help, so we should be ready to listen to family, friends, and even strangers for we might be of help to them too. And rather than focus on the past (which is already out of control) or worry too much about the future (which is still unknown), we must make effort for utilizing the present. Not trying to say that the past isn't useless, as learning, experiences, knowledge, wisdom, these all we have gotten from our past. And future is also very important, as many things such as duties, dreams, and countless other things, need to be fulfilled and things that had gone wrong, need to be fixed, but thinking too much about what we have no control over, only makes us more anxious. We need to look at our current steps which we need to take now, in the present. A vision is needed, for the future surely, but not a vision same as the past but by learning from the past and reconstructing and strengthening the vision, so that the present moment will be well utilized and only then will the future be better than the past. We might need to think about the future too, but not as much as the present as it will decide the future. We only need to know what is important and what is not, what is right and what is wrong, and cherish the present, and cherish all life, and cherish what we have, and cherish the Truth. Gratitude, Wisdom, Love and Compassion, along with Hope, are the keys I think and feel.

To conclude, we need to open up and remove the stigma we feel we have, and we need to remove the discrimination and taboo regarding mental health. As everyone must be mentally healthy to make a healthy society, we must take measures to make ourselves, as well as others around us healthy. If listening to someone a little helps them, why not listen? If sharing a little really helps someone, why not share? So, let’s make it easier for everyone to talk about their mental problems and issues, and let’s make it easier for people to get access to mental treatment, and good treatment. There really is no health without mental health. We must support these agendas, and if there are no initiatives, we must also be ready to take initiatives. We must have hope within and spread love as well, meaning we must keep a positive outlook toward life. By being true to the self, and being unaffected by others’ perceptions of us, we can differentiate what is right from wrong and act accordingly, and we will not need to fear any judgement from anyone then. Lastly, a smile is the best medicine for the mind, and it is only possible to really take advantage of this medicine if we embrace love and compassion and walk the path of Truth which is also considered to be the real essence of the soul by great spiritual scientists and sages that have walked the Earth!!

Serious barriers created by Religion (Article)

Religion was a tradition first, just recently became a culture for the preservation of one's identity, and now it is a matter of faith induced. Religion has always been pointing out a way for deliverance from people's deepest fears and claims to reach the unacquainted truth, while the purpose of life, in my view, is to find the truth, that is within ourselves and reach salvation by doing selfless deeds and contribute to the betterment of the world; doing something good for others and this world, so that kindness reigns supreme in a world full of vices.

I hate to say this, but religion has become a brand nowadays. A brand of beliefs to say. And whether the person really believes in the codes and norms of their religion or not, is not guaranteed. The way religion is misleading our modern-day world, our lives are being controlled by fear and temptations, by people and organizations with an ulterior motive, selfishness of people seeking name or power, and commercializing the "brand" of religion they so blindly believe in and their desire to dominate the world by making others convert to their "brand". Ethnic minorities are also being affected by this directly as people with more reach in power and numbers are in some of the dirtiest plays of conversion games. And while one religion can not stand the other, they turn a blind eye to the virtues in the teachings given by one another, let alone remain in harmony with one another. Religion has become only a tool for the gratification of the sinful than a spiritual practice of virtues.

The problem with the concept of religion itself is flawed, as they preach about God and the traits carried by God(or Gods) as if God is someone whom they have met. Yes, people might find this unpleasant as since time immemorial, the concept of God has existed and I am not denying the existence of God, but I am only questioning why the concept differs in each religion. Isn't God the same for everybody? Whether we call Allah, Messiah, or Bhagawan, shouldn't that have been just a difference in language? But it seems it is not so, as people are arguing and fighting over their righteous genuineness and claims of truth in their faith with disregard for the other. Why are they not able to exist in harmony? I think I might have an answer to that, not as an absolute fact, but in a relative way. I think that there is no harmony between the different religions and even between the sects within any religion because they believe(or claim) their doctrines to be the truth foremost before any others' and disvalue any other teachings by anyone with insight, which is pure arrogance that brings forth ignorance than learning and wisdom. And another reason is, their religion is their "brand" and not love, and they worship the "God of their brand" and not the good. I have always wondered why love isn't a religion and why isn't good revered as God.

This may seem vague or unimportant to many, but I think many others are already beginning to understand my point and why it is important. The concept of God in a specific religion is what brings chaos when it doesn't adapt to the concept of another. Then conflict arises when two or more communities who don't agree with one another have to exist in the same society, followed by inhuman acts of atrocities and riots. A war of religion is evident if we do not keep in mind that faith should not be tampered upon and we all should seek as well as give any insight we can to make each and every one of us enlightened in our path of being human, and not savage beasts and monsters.

There are extremities in most religions throughout the globe that have created serious barriers to the people within the religious community to function well as an individual as well as to adjust with the cultures of another community to co-exist. I want to point out that we are humans foremost, the offspring of mother nature, and only then comes our nationality and religion. But we do not see this and end up desecrating and destroying the precious home to us and countless others, the bosom of Earth where we grew up and dwell, in the name of religion and differences. We end up hurting our brethren if the name of God, while it should have been just the opposite. God, if exists, does not want to see his children murder one another but wants them to cherish, protect and uplift one another. But people are so occupied in their doctrines they forget to see the most and simplest need of every living being, which is freedom. Islam women in some countries are forced to stay inside homes, devoid of freedom to even walk out in a park, have to wear burkas when they have to go outside and have been even barred from getting an education. That is pure injustice in the name of humanity. Who said that God has created men to be superior to women? Bible? Kuran? or the Vedas? It is nothing but an act of domination in the name of one thing or the other. One doctrine, the followers of which want to reign over the other, have always used the conflict as a means to gain power and influence, for example, many Christian mercenaries want to establish their brand as the strongest one, as they have done in the past, using force, exploiting the flaws in another religion or using fear to accept people to follow their doctrines. The Nordic countries had their own religion which was later dominated by Christianity through force, which the Norse people haven't yet forgotten. The same is being done in many parts of the world including Korea, Japan and rural areas of Nepal where the government eyes cannot see what is going on.

If someone converts by will, it is fine. Buddhism made an impact 2000 years ago and the influence reached far-afar from Nepal and India to countries including China, Japan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand and spread wildly across Asia, where people were still following Shintoism, Hinduism, and many other religions. Secularity is important at this time, due to the existence of multiple religions as people have to co-exist. So an extremist shouldn't be trusted or it will bring about feuds between communities and even nations. Islamic nations have laws based on their religion which makes it harder for any foreigner to survive in their country. Hindu communities too, have cultural vices and discriminate against people. People are even barred from entering a temple based on their castes, and religious beliefs. These vices and discriminations that became part of the religious costume weren't made by God but by people claiming to have known what God has made for mankind. They wanted to remain at the top of the hierarchy of people around them and wanted to gain influence. Such was the rule they made which became a doctrine later on. Frustrated by this, many people do not want to even believe that there is a God and become atheists or just turn out apathetic, while some ponder the mystery of life, and reaching the depths of Philosophy, they turn out agnostic. A few people through the practice of a good lifestyle and meditation, a life of asceticism or sacrifice, are able to reach a level of spirituality to be able to glance directly and clearly into the soul. I couldn't explain it more clearly and am certainly not an expert on this, but I keep hearing time and again from many intellectuals and ascetic spiritual practitioners that spirituality is the cure for the scarred soul while religion is the poison.

To sum up, the matters of religion need urgent attention but also must be handled with the utmost care, as it concerns the ficklest ideas in the world; the deliverance from sin, salvation, ideas of sins and virtues, protection from evil, and the ultimate cure of a person, as it is said to provide a person with eternal peace if God has protected a soul. These topics require deep research and considerable coordination from people of different backgrounds but all with the same motivation, that is, a priority of humanity, as the barriers created by religion have become too strong to break due to the deep roots of religion throughout history. Guidance for people is necessary not as a missionary, but as a common soul vouching for compassion and justice. I hope that humans will act for humanity as their ultimate cure, and the goodwill of people and their good deeds will overpower the power-hungry puppet masters controlling indecisive and unguided human souls from behind the curtain.
